Boy, did I make a major mistake in writing about the cost of gasoline compared to the cup of Java that some motorists like to get on their way to work.
Last week, I wrote how gasoline was a penny or two away from $4 a gallon in Oklahoma while a gallon of your favorite coffee would cost anywhere from about $12 up to more than $40.
WRONG!
My math (never claimed it was my strong point) was in error. My math calculated the cost based on 64 ounces in a gallon but it is 128 ounces! So my cost estimates for a gallon of cup should be DOUBLED!
That’s right…a gallon of some lattes at your favorite drive-in is closer to $80.
So when you go back and read my original story, just double the gallon cost. $4 gasoline on one hand—$80 coffee on the other?
